It all started when I felt the call to attend seminary.
I shut down a successful remodeling company that I'd spent 20
years building with my own two hands. After that, we moved the
whole family to Moscow, Idaho, so I could attend seminary.
But we had a small problem...
I had no job and one daughter in college...and
another soon to be. On top of that, I had to read 15,000 pages of deep
theological text every year and attend lectures.
How in the world could I make ends meet? How was I
going to find the time to read all of my seminary reading and still
put beans on the table and still put a daughter through college?
I needed an income and I needed one fast. But I had to
make really good money in my part time so I could devote most of my hours
to reading thick theology books. So, here was the dilemma: How could I
make lots of money working only a few hours a week?
Actually, it was my wife's idea to look at the Internet.
She encouraged me to attend an Internet marketing seminar. We realized
that we could create a product one time and get paid over and over and
over. And we also realized that the whole thing could be set on
auto-pilot so I could have plenty of time for seminary reading.
That is when we stumbled, almost by accident, on a formula
for creating "can't miss" information products. Information products that
have almost unlimited earning potential with almost no risk at all.
Information products that can be created one time and pay you back over
and over...month in and month out!
But without a formula, look what can happen...
Tater Tot
Lasagna?
When I was in college, I had four college roommates in one
house. Being a house full of men, we were naturally culinary-challenged.
One day, one of my roommates got a wild hair to make lasagna.
As luck would have it, we had all of the ingredients -
ground beef, ricotta cheese, tomato sauce - everything except the long
flat lasagna noodles. Not to be put off - and not to make another trop to
the grocery store - my roommate opened the deep freeze to find what he
could substitute for the lasagna noodles.
What did he find? Tater tots!
I kid you not! He carefully covered the bottom of the
baking pan with a layer of tater tots and then poured the ground beef,
tomato sauce and ricotta cheese over it. Then he put another layer of
tater tots on the top and baked it in the oven at 350 degrees.
He was so proud of his “creation” and his improvising
skills that he set a card table out on the front lawn. A neighbor kid from
the “projects” next door (we lived in a not-so-great part of town) came
over begging for food as he did almost every day, and even that hungry
kid wouldn’t touch the Frankenstein lasagna!
So what does this story have to do with creating a
passive income on the Internet?
The reason my college roommate made such a disaster was he
did not follow a plan. People have been baking wonderful lasagna for
centuries by following a tried and true recipe. But when you don't follow
the recipe, you wind up like my college roommate - wasting time, money and
making a mess.
It's the same with making money on the Internet!
Substitute a few ingredients…leave some out…do it in
the wrong order…and you will not have the same results.
Most everyone that sees a nice pan of freshly baked
lasagna thinks subconsciously, “I could do that - it doesn’t look that
hard!” But the truth is, you need a proven formula, a step-by step plan
if you are going to succeed on the Internet. It is not rocket science -
anyone can do it - if properly shown the way, but like I said - substitute
a few ingredients…leave some out…do it in the wrong order…and you will not
have the same results.

applied the online business principles Steve taught us to our used book

Well, I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I

And soon I got my opportunity. My Ford pickup caught on fire due to Ford’s faulty
cruise-control switch. They sent out a recall notice…but to the wrong address.
When I told Ford about this, they totally blew me off!
So, what to do?
Maybe this could be an excuse for a sale and I could give
Ford a black-eye at the same time! So, I had a “My Truck Caught On Fire
Sale”. I pulled together a lot of graphics for web sites, pre-made
headers, ebooks and software and had a big sale. Kind of a “ help me as I
help you” sale. And guess what? I made $5,470.57 in the first 10 days!
I then took that information a little deeper and created a
home-study course called “Secrets To Building Sites That Sell”. And the
rest, they say, is history. That little home-study course made
$51,643.00 in the first 7 days from a tiny list of 2000 people…and
it continues to sell to this very day!
And here is the best part…I haven’t visited that web page
in over 2 years! How’s that for passive income!
